Mental Health

 Entry #10

Mental health

Yep, here it is. Mental health. This is something that is a complicated topic for most, even though almost everyone goes through a rough patch with their mental health. Still, because it is such a taboo topic that no one can dare talk about or worry others will look down on, pity, or treat them differently, people refuse to tell others what they're going through. Even I have struggled and continue to struggle with mental health, but the problem was that I never wanted to ask for help. Even my closest friends didn't know that I sometimes wanted to disappear and that they would be better off without me. But I could not have been farther from the truth.

So I am writing this to let you know that even though this is a complex topic and you may not want to share with someone, after I shared what I was going through with someone I trusted, I have been able to let go of some things and be happier than I was. I have also realized that no one would be better if I were not here, and some people even need me. So I want everyone to know that you are not alone, you are not crazy, and can get through this.

This is a relatively short blog entry, so I apologize for that, but I am no expert in this, and the only thing I can offer is what I have given in the last paragraphs. If you are struggling, please let someone listen to what you are going through. If you were a friend and didn't know that your good friend was going through something and they decided to end everything, you would wonder why they didn't ask for help or tell you what they were going through, right? If so, try telling someone about what you are going through. Do not leave them in the dark. Let someone know and get some help, and if not for you, at least for someone who would be unable to live without you, whether you realize it or not, someone will miss you.

I will have the link here for a book that helped me through everything and may also help you. Note: It is by a Christian author, and they may practice different beliefs from you. Even so, please check this book out. Attacking Anxiety

  1. Beautiful. Short, simple, yet powerful. Mental health battles are not taboo, it's not for attention. Growing up in the 90's, it was almost unheard of that someone went and sought out help. I'm a huge advocate for men's mental help as well. You are not alone. It's okay to feel the way you do. Talk through it. To whoever finds this, the world is a more beautiful place with you in it.

  2. This is such a powerful and honest post. Mental health is definitely something that’s hard to talk about, but opening up and sharing what you're going through is such an important step. I love how you remind everyone that they're not alone and that people care more than they might think. It's inspiring to see you share your journey, and I hope others can feel encouraged to reach out for help too. Thank you for being so real and honest!

  5. Thank you for being honest and brave in sharing this. You’re right; mental health struggles are common, but many feel alone because it’s often hidden. I admire how you emphasized the need to open up and ask for help. It’s a reminder that we matter more than we think. Thank you for also providing a resource, as it can help someone in need.
