Traveling with a budget
Traveling is supposed to be fun, and you should not worry about the price or whether you can afford it. I will provide some cheap places to travel while you are on a budget or trying to save money. I will discuss each country based on its duration and cost and explain why it is a good choice.
Some cheap countries to visit on a budget are:
- Cambodia
- Mexico
- Vietnam
- Egypt
- Nepal
Cambodia is ideal if you don't want to spend much money on a trip. The weather is warm all year round, and everything from tour guides to food, transportation, and sightseeing costs only about 600 dollars per person for a whole week! However, if you plan on staying somewhere more luxurious and spending more money overall, the expenses can go much higher, to about 2,500 dollars per person for one week. So, consider Cambodia if you want to go alone and have a budget-friendly trip.
Mexico is a beautiful country to visit, and it's also very cheap! Most of your trip will consist of eating the country's excellent food. Do not forget that the city of Mexico also has many sightseeing attractions, so save some money for that. The cost of one person traveling alone can range from about 850 dollars to about 3,500 dollars, depending on whether you are traveling in a luxury style or not. This is highly recommended if you are a foodie and want to learn about Mexico's history.
Vietnam has gorgeous scenery and many fun celebrations throughout the year. If you are traveling alone and do not stay in an expensive luxury hotel, the cost is relatively low. One person per week in Vietnam can range from 500-700 dollars to 2,500 or more. If you want fun and beautiful scenery, this is the place to go while on a budget!
Egypt is a beautiful, vast desert with ancient architecture. Many trips around the desert, food, and lodging cost between 800 and 3,200 dollars per person per week. If you want to traverse the beautiful desert and learn about ancient architecture and history, Egypt is your place!
Lastly, there is Nepal and its famous Mt. Everest! Nepal has beautiful beaches, Mt. Everest, and many museums where you can learn about its history and culture. The cost for a week for one person may vary depending on how many people and whether you will be traveling in luxury or not. The average price is 300-600 dollars for food, transportation, lodging, and a week of sightseeing. If you want something more luxurious, the cost will be about 1,000 to 2,500 dollars per person for a week. If you are hoping to traverse the heights of Mt. Everest or just want to learn about the culture of Nepal, this is the place to be.

I loved reading your blog! I'm actually trying to travel this year and I'm looking for suggestions so this is perfect timing. It is also a very affordable country to visit. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteHello Blogging is Fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you for those suggestions on low cost trips. Traveling is something always on everyone vision board but the thought of the cost is dreadful. Thank you give a range on the cost! Definitely helps when picking a spot to vacation in.
I am curious to know if you have traveled to any of these spots you listed? If so, any tips you specific suggestions as to hotel or tours to take?
I've been wanting to travel a bit more lately, so reading this was in pretty good timing. I also had no idea Nepal had beaches, so I had to look it up, and it turns out they have some scenic beaches on their lakes. I just gotta stop thinking "ocean" every time I hear beach.
ReplyDeleteWhat places/ countries have you visited before?
I'm actually traveling to Cambodia later this year with a friend to visit his family. The two options you listed are going to be helpful when we finalize the plans to travel and how much we should both bring to spend on this trip.
ReplyDeleteSo many people put off traveling because it's expensive! I think you made really good points about how traveling itself doesn't need to be expensive. While yes, it is still something people would need to save up for, it's a lot more affordable than it seems. People just tend to choose expensive places to travel like amusement parks. But to go sight seeing at places like these, people could go and not have to save so much.
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed! I've been wanting to travel for so long but have been putting it off because I've been finding it really expensive to get out of the country. I am planning to travel to Taiwan which I heard can also be cost friendly.
ReplyDeleteMariela : I am enjoying reading your blog! This is really helped a lot of people who want to travel on a budget. I was actually thinking to go to Egypt since my best friend was from there.
ReplyDeleteThis was a very insightful read. The thought of travel on my current budget seemed impossible. I had no idea that there were options this cheap. I have always wanted to visit Mexico. I'm very familiar with the culture, especially the food.
